It's never too late to start playing in the Riverside Rounders Poker Leagues. Our point system is designed so that even players who enter the leagues late in the season have a chance at a seat in our Championship event held at the end of each season.
The format of our leagues is very similar to bowling or pool leagues, where players compete regularly to accumulate points. At the end of the season, a League Championship will be held to determine the best player from all leagues.
The Leagues and Season
We presently run 3 separate leagues. Tuesdays and Thursdays are mixed leagues in which both male and female players compete. Wednesday night is “Ladies Night” and the tournaments are limited to female players only. Players are welcome to compete in more than one league, however points accumulated in one league cannot be transferred or used in another league.
Each season is 21 weeks long. We are presently in the Summer/Fall season which runs from June 24th through November 20th.
The Tournaments
All tournaments start at 7:30 pm. The doors to the club will open 30 minutes beforehand at 7:00pm. In each tournament, players will play until there is one man or woman left standing. In each tournament, the top 10 players will receive points based on where they finish and how many players competed in that tournament. You can find a copy of our tournament point system here.
The League Championships
At the end of each season, qualifying players from each league will compete in the League Championship Tournament.
League players can earn a seat in the Championship Tournament in one of two ways:
Point Accumulation: At the end of the season, the top 15 players with the highest earned points will automatically win a seat in the League Championship.
Semi-Finals: Eligible league players are welcomed to compete in their respective leagues semi-final event. In order to be eligible, a player must have attended at least 55% of the events in their league and their membership must have been kept current throughout the league season. Qualifying players will compete in a Shootout Tournament. A shootout is where there are (approximately) the same number of players at each table and your goal is to Win Your Table. So for example, if 40 people show up to play at your Semi-Finals, you could have 5 tables of 8. The winner of each of these tables (5 total winners) will then move on to the Championship Tournament.
The Championship Tournament
The winner from each table at the Semi-Finals moves on to the championship event. The Top 15 ranked players from each League receive a "bye" to this event (they do not play in the Semi-Finals).
Come out and enjoy yourself!
Most importantly, the Riverside Rounders Poker Leagues are all about great people, great poker and great fun. We encourage our players to be competitive, yet respectful of each other. So, if you love to meet new people and play poker, then the Riverside Rounders Leagues are perfect for you.
Good Luck and Have a Great Season!
