Riverside
Rounders
The primary form of poker played at Riverside Rounders is tournament style Hold'em. However, on some days, different rules or games are used. The listing below shows our weekly schedule. Click any of the titles to view information and rules for the various games.
Yes, we're really free and there is no catch! In fact, we can't charge our players to play poker because that would violate the state's gambling laws. Of course that means there is no gambling allowed of any kind in the club. Our goal is to provide a comfortable, professional environment where people who enjoy poker as much as we do can meet, mingle and improve their game.
It is not illegal to play poker for prizes, but it is illegal to pay to play poker for prizes. Gambling is defined as putting soemthing at risk in order to play a game of chance for a prize. We do charge for VIP Memberships, but those memberships are completely optional. In accordance with Sweepstakes Rules, you can register to play for free by following the "Free to Play" instructions as set forth on our Rules Page. We cannot stress enough that Riverside Rounders is NOT a gambling facility. Anyone caught violating this policy will be immediately asked to leave the club - no exceptions.
Riverside Rounders is sponsored by donations from vendors in the poker community, through our advertisers and from VIP Memberships. Their generosity enables us to provide cash and prizes for our tournaments and events. We realize that in order to create a competitive atmosphere, it is necessary to give the players something to play for. As we grow, so will our prize pool. It is our goal to send at least 2 players to the World Series of Poker each season.
As you can imagine, a free poker club in the Philadelphia area has the potential to get extrememly busy. Because we can only accommodate a fixed number of players at any one time, we require that all players register and use our online system for reserving seats and entering tournaments. Players who do not have access to a computer can call the club. Walk-ins are always welcome and we will register walk-ins when as they arrive. However, we cannot always guarantee that there will be available seating at any given time for walk-ins.
You do not have to be a VIP member to play, nor do VIP members get any preferred treatment at any of our regularly scheduled tournaments and events. Details of the benefits of purchasing a VIP membership can be found inside the site.
In order to help ensure the integrity of our registrants, we require that all users verify their email address. Upon completion of the registration form, we immediately send you an email containing a link and instructions for activating your account. However, it is usually a good idea to wait a few minutes before checking your Inbox. This is especially true for Users who use one of the many "free" e-mail services such as Hotmail or Yahoo. If you still have not received your confirmation e-mail, take a look and see if the e-mail has been sent to your junk e-mail folder instead. This may occur if you are using some spam filtering software programs. Adding support@riversiderounders.com to your Address book, Contacts, Allow List or Friends list will usually avoid this problem. If you continue to have problems, please contact Customer Support.
Unfortunately, the free mail in process does take a little time. There are certain steps that we must follow to ensure that we are in compliance with Pennsylvania Sweepstakes Law. This is probably the biggest benefit of being a VIP Member. By subscribing to use our automated online system, you can easily register for any event at any time.
